Open Lodge Weekend Retreats

Open Weekends are opportunities for private, personal retreat at Laity Lodge—to step into the ongoing life-of-the-Lodge for an experience of refuge and rest, silence and nature, discernment and prayer.

You decide how you want to encounter the time and space. Although there will be no traditional retreat programming (no large group sessions in the Great Hall), you may find a few simple (and optional) Lodge-curated happenings on offer during your stay.

Open Weekends are limited to a small number of guests.
All meals are included.
(Friday dinner through Sunday brunch)

We hope to host retreats as least two weekends/month.
Exact dates will be determined on a month-by-month basis.

Fee: $300/person
Arrival time: Friday, 4:00-5:30 PM
Departure time: Sunday, 12:00 PM

We want you to be completely at ease.

Safety and trust are the bedrocks of any experience at the Lodge, so we are taking extra measures to ensure those same realities characterize these mid-pandemic offerings too.

Please join us in following these health and safety guidelines to ensure that a generous spirit of hospitality defines every Open Lodge Weekend.

Universal Standby List

In an attempt to offer everyone a fair and equitable shot at being here, we are implementing a new universal standby list.

Here’s how it works:

  • Add your name to the standby list by completing the form below. You only have to do this once.
  • Prior to each event, the Lodge will randomly select guests from the standby list. We will contact the selected guests to complete their registrations. If they are unable to attend, they will return to the universal list, and we will draw a new random guest. Random selections will continue until all available rooms are full.
  • Only guests who are selected will be contacted.
  • All rooms are limited to one or two guests. Any double-occupants must be of the same household. If you are hoping to attend as two guests, please include both guests in your submission (Note: double-occupancy registrations will be treated as one entry for lottery purposes).
  • How we select: Before events, each guest entry is assigned a number. Then we use a random number generator to select numbers until available rooms are filled.

The paradox of hospitality is that it wants to create emptiness, not a fearful emptiness, but a friendly emptiness where strangers can enter and discover themselves as created free; free to sing their own songs, speak their own languages, dance their own dances; free also to leave and follow their own vocations.
